In the villages around Gir, the morning begins with the cows. They are not numbers here — they are named, brushed, and grazed on open pasture. The milk they give each morning is set into curd overnight, hand-churned at dawn, and turned into ghee the same day. Nothing waits. Nothing is rushed. That is the only way our families have ever known how to do it, and it is the only way we will.
This is the jar we built Ghreetam around. Made in small batches from the milk of indigenous Gir cows, cultured into curd, hand-churned, and simmered on a slow wood flame until it turns the colour of late-evening sun. Golden, grainy, and unmistakably aromatic.
Sourced from 40+ partner families across the Gir region of Gujarat. Single-origin, grass-fed, and free-grazed. Every jar carries a batch number traceable to the family, the herd, and the milking date.
Rich in butyric acid, traditionally valued in Ayurveda to support gut health and digestion.
Stable at high heat (~250°C) — ideal for everyday Indian cooking, tadka, and frying.
Carries fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K2 along with Omega-3 and Omega-9.
